Vessel: Chemical Tanker
The successful AB/Pumpman must have previous experience with Tankers/FPSO's. Previous experience as a Pumpman is essential.
This is a temporary role for a ten week trip, commencing the end of May.
Daily Duties:
Maintain regular deck watches with sole focus on the monitoring of deck pipework when the FPSO is engaged in tank washing and discharge operations to barges (which will be moored alongside)
The team of 3 Ratings will maintain a watch on the process / green deck of the FPSO; one person will be stationed at the discharge manifold area; one person will be stationed forward deck area and one person will be stationed at the after deck area.
In the event of any operational cargo discharge / tank washing issues, the Deck Rating will raise the alarm, communicate the nature of the problem, assist in securing the operation and support in any cleanup activities.
Essential requiements:
· Formal AB qualification and experience
· Experience in navigational and cargo watch keeping on board oil tanker vessels
· Experience sailing as OS and ABS.
· High level of verbal and written communication in English
· Experience in, understanding of critical tanker operations such as crude oil washing of cargo tanks, water washing of cargo tanks, purging, inerting and gas freeing.
· Experience in ship to ship transfer of fluids, barging operations
· Application of knowledge – Ability to communicate Marine Knowledge
· effectively within the team.
