POSITION SUMMARY
Undertakes onboard training to gain practical experience as part of an education program
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Able to follow instructions provided by the First Engineer.
- Able to assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Must be familiar with SEMS and the responsibilities he/she has in an emergency
- DIMENSIONS
- Must demonstrate willingness to learn and further their knowledge of onboard equipment and procedures.
- NATURE AND SCOPE
- Will be assigned duties that are customary to the department as directed by the department head.
- Initiates and maintains effective employee relations at all times. Requirements:
For U.S. Flagged Ships prior to joining NCLA ships
- Merchant Mariner Document (MMD / Z Card)
- Crowd Management
- Crisis Management and Human Behavior Fluent in English (written and verbal)

- Valid Medical Certificate
- Valid C1/D Visa STCW Company Required Certificates
- Basic Safety Course

- Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than
- Fast Rescue Boats
- Basic Safety Familiarization (On Assignment)
- Ship Specific Familiarization (On Assignment)
- Operational Limitations
- Illegal Drug Lecture
- Respiratory Protection Education:
NCL will accept the education in case by case at the time of hire

- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the essential functions of this job, all team members are required to stand; walk long distances on the ship; use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.
- All vessel positions require repetitive motion of bending, climbing, going up and down stairs and lifting more than 25 pounds. This job requires specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
